Matching Gift Report as of February 3, 2009 Program Changes:
3M Changes effective 1/1/2009
Gifts to Public Broadcasting are no longer matched. Stations that are part of a college or university continue to receive the match because of this affiliation.
Matching Gifts to Higher Education: Change in the match ratio for Employees 1:1 and retirees .50:1. Retiree gifts are matched until the fifth anniversary of retirement and are not eligible after that date.
Johnson & Johnson Changes effective 1/1/2009
Johnson & Johnson will no longer match retiree gifts at 2:1. Ratio is 1:1. They will honor any gifts given through 12/31/08.
No Changes:
The Tribune/Chicago Tribune Suspended Programs:: USB Wealth Management Changes effective 1/1/2009
Matching Gift Program will no longer be offered under the current structure. Details are being finalized for a revised campaign to be held annually beginning in 2009. All pledges and matches submitted through the online GivingStation as of December 31, 2008 will be honored and paid through the current matching gift guidelines and regular distribution cycle. After December 31, 2008 no new matching gift requests will be accepted
Circuit City – Closed Program effective immediately.
Circuit City going out of business after 60 years. Program closed. Lexmark Changes effective 1/29/2009
Lexmark is suspending their matching gift program, effective immediately, regardless of the date when the gift was made.
Thomson Reuters Changes effective 12/31/2008
In 2009 they will be launching a new program to better align all the marketing group programs together. As a result, the current Thomson Reuter’s Program has been discontinued as of December 31, 2008. They will honor and gifts submitted within 6 months of the data of donation.
LyondellBasell - Changes effective 12/31/2008
We received a letter today from David A. Harpole, Director of Public Affairs for. On Jan. 6, 2009 they filed for Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. As a result they are also suspending their matching program. All outstanding requests for matching that will be funded have been distributed. Any pending requests will not be paid.
The Ciba Foundation Changes effective 2/2/2009
The Ciba Foundation is being discontinued with the funds expended during the year. CIBA’s operations are expected to be taken over by BASF Corporation during the first half of 2009.
