AutoMatch is an electronic screening service that provides your institution with electronic access to the most comprehensive database of Matching Gift Companies available (over 15,000).

Our goal is to develop and maintain a system that assures the institution's matching gift data is current and complete. The emphasis is to increase the number of matching gift eligible alumni identified, so that alumni and corporate support is increased.
How Does It Work?

You provide HEP with a file containing the following data for alumni who have employment information and are not already identified as matching gift eligible:
s Alumni ID Number
s Employer Name
s Home State of Alum
s Amount of Last Donation (blank if non-donor)
s Date of Last Donation (blank if non-donor)
At this point, HEP will process your file against GiftPlus using our sophisticated matching software. The screening allows HEP to electronically match your employer names against our database of matching gift companies. If you have abbreviated company names in your file, our software will match nearly any abbreviation or commonly used term such as IBM or Int'l Business Machines, Inc.
What Can You Expect?
When a match is made, we code to identify the record as eligible. In addition, Hep will append each alum match with information on the company's match program, such as the min. gift, max. gift and gift ratio, plus much more. Generally, we match between 4-12% of the records screened that were not previously identified as match eligible. Your results may vary from this average.
By gaining access to this data, you put your institution in control over its Matching Gift Program. Now you no longer have to visually check alumni employer records against outdated lists. Nor do you have to rely on the alum to tell you if he/she works for a matching gift company.
